What is 31 days of Halloween is you ask? Well I'll tell you! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. 31 is my favorite number. October is my favorite month. There are 31 one days in my favorite month, the 31st being the actual day of said holiday. That's plenty enough reasons to celebrate for me! So I invented 31 one days of Halloween, a blog that will chronicle my daily celebrations. Each day will be something fun and different to represent the spirit of autumn and Halloween. Check back daily for fun ideas, songs, and updates. Let the festivities begin :)

Day 8

Museum
Me and some of my bestest friends put on some dresses and went to a museum featuring a Halloween exhibit! They had some of the craziest and coolest art pieces I've ever seen. What I really appreciated most about it was it's vintageness. I view Halloween two different ways. One being the fun, modern, party/candy traditions that most if us are used to. The other, and my favorite of the two, is what I like to call the vintage Halloween spirit. The sense of coolness and eeriness about the month, the sound of crispy leaves and brisk air. Pumpkin patches and hayrides, folklore and daunting stories.
This exhibit was all of those things.
Look how intricate the pieces were! I loved the owls and the party kits and invites from decades ago. There were also cool paintings, masks, and lanterns. I was inspired yo and wanted to get in touch with my inner craftiness.

It was witchy, spooky, and festive. We all had so much fun :)
When were were done with the Halloween exhibit, we all headed downstairs for some extra vintageness...

...and came across a 50's diner and kitchen!

This old couch
reminded the
girls of my dress
so I went to
camouflage.
Not too shabby.

I really liked the old radios:

We also met the cutest old lady who told us first hand about her experiences living through the 50's and 60's. She lite up talking to us and even showed us some of her dance moves! We asked her to take our pictures, which was hilarious because she didn't know how to work a camera and kept missing us all. I want to be her when I'm old.
